Display Search Results on Page

  • What do you need?

A page which displays a list of search results.

  • Why do you need it?

I would like to be able to point a user to a set of results without linking to one specific article. Additionally, I would also like to be able to add DeveloperHub/Platform9 Docs as a search engine to my browser (Chrome) which isn’t possible with the “instant” search results only.

  • How would it work?

Similar to many other platforms which display a list of results for a particular query, highlighting any relevant matches among paragraphs/headers. Additional filtering capabilities could potentially be added here as well. This could also be a togglable option.

Hey @Matthew.

We’ll be introducing a way for you to start a search immediately. If you add ?s=<search-term> to any link in your docs, then a search will commence once the page loads.

It won’t be a dedicated search page, but it at least allows you to set up a search engine in your browser, and to show search results without asking the user for it explicitly.

This will be added shortly.
