It would be great to hide categories until they are ready to be published. Currently creating a category, makes it appear in the live menu right away.
I created a new request since the to others relate to private or hidden pages.

I’ll get that tasked, but it’s not a straightforward task as unpublishing a category needs to unpublish everything under it, which modifies all permissions and search content as well.
Thanks for looking into this. That is the behavior I would expect.
Anything not published or an a draft mode would not show in search.
Hiding a category would hide all the pages in that category.
